Laura started her career nearly 15 years ago in Vancouver BC Canada, where she graduated top of her class at Marvel College. Devoting the first 6 years of her career to advanced education, through Bumble and Bumble, Toni and Guy, Loreal Professional, and working non stop behind the chair, she quickly grew a loyal following.
After many trips to New York for education at the house of Bumble, and styling backstage at NYFW for designers such as Alice and Olivia, Lacoste, and Chado Ralph Rucci, Laura decided to make NYC her home.
Her incredible talent and exemplary style landed her a chair at the legendary rock and roll salon Mudhoney in Soho.
In New York she also found a new passion for motorcycles that eventually brought her to Arizona. She then spent 5 years bringing her unique hair approach to the clients of Downtown Phoenix at the top rated Salon RO5.
It is here at True Few that Laura is marrying all her experience and passions under one roof. Although she is a true pop culture junky, obsessing over music, fashion, books and everything in between, her true love is people. What makes her such a sought after stylist is not just her textured razor cuts, lived in balayage color, and modern approach to men's cutting, but the personal connection she forms with each and every person, that keeps them coming back again and again.
Kristina began her career in the beauty industry 6 years ago, after leaving a corporate finance job to follow her passion for makeup, hair, and skincare. After working as a freelance makeup artist in the Phoenix Metro area for bridal, commercial makeup and hair studios, she decided to elevate her craft in sunny Los Angeles to gain further training and experience in red carpet and editorial makeup and skincare.
She returned to Phoenix in order to accelerate and add to her beauty arsenal by attending Penrose Academy of Cosmetology in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kristina thrived at cutting and coloring classes, as well as advanced education from Hanzo Shears, Wahl Pro, Pravana, and Davines Professional educators. While in school, she jumped at the opportunity to become an education executive for Youth to the People, a clean, vegan and sustainable skincare line out of LA.
Kristina has apprenticed alongside many talented and experienced stylists in an upscale Scottsdale salon. She continues to seek out additional education to keep the highest level of new techniques and knowledge, so that she can deliver amazing client services and build incredible connections with all her clients. Kristina pulls inspiration and influence from music, art, culture and her peers. Her goal is to continue to strive to create a cool, creative and welcoming environment for all of the amazing clients who visit with her at True Few.
Maria began her career in the beauty industry 11 years ago receiving a Cosmetology license from Toni & Guy Academy and accepting an apprenticeship the following year to gain experience in the industry. After completing her apprenticeship, she joined a band and started playing shows around Arizona as well as attending SXSW in 2012. Upon releasing the album "Origins" with her band Bears of Manitou, she went on to release her solo album, "Carousel" under the moniker Her & Gold.
She started to work behind the chair again at Salon RO5 in DT Phoenix in 2013 and after a successful year she accepted a position as Lead Stylist at the Red Door Salon & Spa at the Phoenix Biltmore location. Maria's time there was spent growing her skillset with ongoing education, including Hair Dreams tape-in extensions and was given opportunities to showcase her photography and teaching skills. In 2016 she won Red Door’s WELLA Trendvision competition, among many other awards for her cuts, color, and styling, and was flown to NYC to attend a 2-day editorial seminar where she received one-on-one training for on-set styling as well as color + style techniques.
To strengthen her updo & styling skills, she joined Drybar and opened their Phoenician Resort location as top stylist. During this time, Maria launched House of Sicilia as a freelance stylist to channel her love for bridal & onsite styling. She attended The Marry Mart, a modern wedding expo, as a vendor and also created a sold-out hair styling class called "Minimalism & Mimosas" to help educate women about clean beauty and how-to’s for their hair & skin.
Maria is inspired by music, art, culture and fashion, and has a strong affinity for ongoing education and the beauty industry as a whole. She values the modern & lived-in aesthetic of her cuts, balayages, extensions, and bridal styles as well as her passion for creating a personalized look for you. Marrying the music & hair world, True Few is the perfect home for Maria and she cannot wait to welcome you with open arms into her creative space.
Sydney started her career in the hair industry a decade ago graduating from Avalon School of Cosmetology in Phoenix. Respecting the discipline of the craft of hairdressing Sydney spent two years assisting at central Phoenix staple, salon Kismet, where she learned the rules and how to break them.
In 2013, Sydney joined the team at Drybar where she spent the next five years honing and perfecting one of true passions - styling hair. If there's one thing Sydney feels absolutely confident at, it’s giving each of her clients the most perfect blowout. While at The Drybar, she continued to develop her cutting and coloring skills through freelancing with various clients and continuing her education.
In 2018, she joined the team at Salon Ro5 in Downtown Phoenix where she gained a loyal, diverse clientele and deep relationship with her community.
There is nothing more fulfilling to Sydney than when client comes to her with an idea, and trusts her to put her own spin on it. Add some bangs? Chop up a mullet? She’s your girl. Always ready to formulate a new color for the changing seasons and her favorite of keeping blondes fresh and healthy.
She finds herself most inspired by her fellow stylists; learning and collaborating with her peers is very important to her which lead her to take the leap to True Few - she cannot wait to meet you!
